About
Quantum Secure Direct Communication (QSDC) Group, led by Prof. Gui-Lu Long, Vice-President of BAQIS and professor of Tsinghua University, consists of 10 members (9 full-time). The team is developing technology, devices and systems for quantum secure direct communication and quantum network, which will promote the practical application of quantum communication and construction of quantum internet.
Since its establishment, the team has accomplished several significant results. In 2020, the world’s first QSDC prototype debuted here, and was presented as a major breakthrough at the 2020 Zhongguancun Forum. The first proof-of-principle experiment in free-space QSDC was also completed in 2020. In 2021, the team proposed a secure classical-relay scheme and demonstrated in experiment, thereby laying a foundation for long-range QSDC. In 2022, a QSDC system with an extremely low QBER was implemented, utilizing phase and time-slot mixed coding, while establishing a new record for communication distance that exceeded 100km. The team is currently conducting research and development on a new generation QSDC system and quantum network.
