BAQIS Internal Seminars 20: Quantum correlation and its study in quantum thermodynamic systems.

2020/07/24

Date: 24-Jul-2020
Time: 14:00-15:00
Venue: Meeting Room 526
Speaker: Dr. Teng MA (Division of Quantum Comput. & Comm.)

Abstract:
Quantum entanglement is the key resource in quantum computation and quantum information processing. However, in recent years,  it is found that quantum correlations beyond quantum entanglement (eg. quantum discord) shine its merits in certain quantum information processing. Moreover, based on the work of  qualifying  coherence, quantum coherence is connected to the quantum correlations. This talk will introduce the resource theory of quantum correlation and quantum coherence, and  their studies in quantum thermodynamic systems.

About the speaker:
In 2015, Teng Ma  obtained his Ph.D. degree in mathematical physics  at capital normal university. From 2015 to 2019, worked as a postdoc, he successively joined Tsinghua university and Southern University of Science and Technology. In Mar. 2020, he joined Beijing Academia of Quantum Information Science  as an assistant researcher. His former research interests are quantum correlation and quantum thermodynamic,  including the resource theory of quantum entanglement, quantum discord, quantum coherence, and their studies in quantum thermodynamic systems.
