BAQIS Internal Seminar 27: High-temperature superconductor Josephson junctions at two-dimensional limit
2020/09/04
Date: September 4 2020 (Friday)
Time: 14:00-15:00
Venue: Meeting Room 526
Speaker: Dr. Yuying Zhu (Division of Quantum State of Matter)
Abstract:
High quality Josephson junctions made of high-temperature superconductors (HTS), are of great significance for their applications in superconductor electronics and serve as a key platform for determining the pairing symmetry of HTS. In this report, I will introduce our recent progress in atomically flat Josephson junctions fabricated with cuprates and iron-based HTS. With exfoliated cuprate superconductors, we fabricate c-axis Josephson junctions with different twist angles and confirm persistent s-wave pairing. We also grow ultrathin FeSe films on SrTiO3 bicrystals and realize Josephson junctions with thickness down to 0.55 nm.
About the speaker:
Dr. Yuying Zhu received her Bachelor's degree in Shandong University in 2012 and Doctor’s degree in Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017. She worked as a postdoc researcher in Qikun Xue group, Tsinghua University in 2017-2019. Subsequently, she joined to Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences (BAQIS) as an assistant investgator. Zhu’s research mainly focuses on the quantum transport properties of low dimensional materials.
