Title: Next-Generation Time Tagging: Photon Number Resolution, Remote Synchronization and High Data Rate

About the Speaker:

Michael Schlagmüller, the CEO of Swabian Instruments, obtained his PhD in Experimental Physics from the University of Stuttgart in April 2016 and co-founded Swabian Instruments in the same year, assuming the role of Managing Director after the company was established. Dr. Schlagmüller specializes in the software and hardware development of experimental devices in physics and electronics. Additionally, he is experienced in experiments with ultracold atoms and the setup of instrumentation systems, having published multiple papers in journals such as Physical Review X, Physical Review Letters, and New Journal of Physics.

Abstract:

In this talk, we explore Swabian Instruments' latest advancements in time tagging technology, focusing on Photon Number Resolution (PNR) for SNSPDs, remote synchronization and on-the-fly data analysis of distant Time Taggers via a White Rabbit Network, and the FPGA link operation to transfer up to 1.2 billion events / s to another FPGA, These cutting-edge developments push the boundaries of precision and performance in photonic quantum research.
