Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences (BAQIS) http://www.baqis.ac.cn/, led by the Beijing Government and jointly established by several top academic institutions in Beijing, aims to develop research on quantum physics and quantum information technology. BAQIS plans to establish a semiconductor spin-optoelectronics research Group. The task of this research team is to realize new types of functional devices using spin as an information carrier in optoelectronic devices, and to promote applications in the fields of optical communication, optical display and optical sensing.

BAQIS is seeking applicants for technician positions and all ranks of researchers, including postdoctoral fellow positions in the area of semiconductor spin-optoelectronics.

Area 1: spin injection and control in semiconductor

Job Description:

1 Research Scientist

1 Assistant Research Scientist 

The main tasks are:

(1) Build magneto-transport set-up;

(2) Study the mechanism of electrical spin injection in semiconductors;

(3) Design material structures to realize high-efficiently electric control of magnetization switching.

Requirements:

(1)   Has a background in spintronics field for semiconductor spin injection or electrical magnetization switching;

(2)   Researcher: Has a permanent position of associate professor/researcher or above in China or abroad;

Associate researcher: Has at least three years of postdoctoral or permanent position research work experience.

Assistant researcher: Has at least two years of postdoc research experience;

(3)   Be creative, able to bear hardships and stand hard work, have teamwork spirit, and be able to communicate in English fluently.

Area 2: vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSEL)

The main tasks are:

(1)  Study and design the structure of semiconductor materials for spin lasers;

(2)   Build opto-electronic platform to characterize spin lasers.

Requirements:

(1) Has a background in the structure design and characterization of semiconductor lasers (especially VCSEL);

(2) Senior researcher: Has a permanent position of associate professor/researcher or above in China or abroad;

Associate researcher: Has at least three years of postdoctoral or permanent position research work experience.

Assistant researcher: Has at least two years of postdoc research experience;

(3) Be creative, able to bear hardships and stand hard work, have teamwork spirit, and be able to communicate in English fluently.
